About Chisolm Studios

Gary Chisolm has been a professional photographer since 1996 concentrating on commercial and freelance work. His family moved to Granville, Ohio in 2002 after living in Orlando, Florida. In 2008 he received the Outstanding Image Award out of over 830 entries by professional photographers in the 5 state regional print competition hosted by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Because of client request he continues to travel around the country for photography assignments. Locally as his photographic talents became known, requests for his photography increased. In 2010 Chisolm Studios was rebranded and was opened for photography in the greater Columbus, Granville, Newark areas.

Chisolm Studios specializes in family portraits, high school senior pictures, children and wedding photography. Be it for formal or casual shots during the consultation session we will work with you to find the perfect location, suggest clothing and props. If the session will be on location, we will work with you to pick the best time of day for lighting.

Our goal is to provide our customers with relaxed natural looking portraiture. We do this by posing in a manner that it looks natural. If needed additional lighting is then added and the moment is captured with top of the line photography equipment. We are not done yet - the image is then finished using advanced digital darkroom techniques. We firmly believe that the best retouching cannot be seen by looking at the final image. Unless otherwise specified our retouching and any digital image manipulation is done to enhance the image making it look natural and believable. Utilizing this process we are able to produce the highest quality images possible.

In addition to the PPA we are members of Professional Photographers of Ohio, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, and the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce.
